First Light Anglers Set New Group Permit Record with Huge Fish |
|

Charlie Allen's huge permit caught just past Sunday measured 31 inches by 31 inches.
And here's a few more permit coming to the boat this week...
We thought these guys did great last year with 11 total permit to the boat for the week. Well, they matched that in their first two days, then added five more - and they were big!
The highlight for the week had to have been the monster fish of 35 pounds landed by Charlie Allen, followed the same day by his brother's 27-pounder. And Robert Monk had a twenty-pound-plus fish on the charts as well. But that's just a size report. The group landed a new Club record 16 permit in total for the week, and they all have a lifetime's worth of "the one that got away" stories to tell when they get back home to Massachusetts. Group leader Derek Springler caught the last palometa (his second for the trip!) just before two days of el sucko weather put a true damper on the action. You've raised the bar boys, see ya next year!
